Step 1: Create a techpack version
To create a new version of your techpack follow these steps:
Step a: Click on the Doc View on your techpack board
Step b: Click on save and send to lock the changes as a version.
It's a good practice to save a version whenever you change a stage OR when sending updates to your manufacturer. This way you and your manufacturer can capture and see the differences between the versions.
Your latest techpack version will be listed in this version tab of your doc view page as shown. All techpack versions here will be listed in order of top to bottom with a time-stamp of when it was generated.
Step 2: How to share single or multiple techpacks
There are three ways to share a read-only version of your techpacks with the manufacturer:
- Share a single techpack via e-mail
- Share a single techpack by enabling the public URL link
- Share multiple techpacks
2a. Share a single techpack via e-mail:
Step a: Select the techpack version you want to share.
Step b: Click on the send icon at the right upper corner
Step c: A window pops up with a public link.
Enter your manufacturers' email id individually, OR you can choose
the email group/s you've added on your My Manufacturers page, OR
select all
Edit the subject and the message or keep it as default and
Click on email button to send your techpack(s)
- It is advisable to always click the attached PDF checkbox
on the left bottom corner; by doing this a PDF copy of the selected techpacks will be attached with the e-mail.
2b. Share a single techapck by enabling the public URL link:
Step a: Select the techpack version you want to share.
Step b: Click Options next to the version on the right and select enable public link.
Step c: Click on and you’ll be redirected to a new window tab with the PDF version of your techpack.
Simply copy and share your browser's URL link with your manufacturers which will let them view and download the tech pack PDF.
2c. Share mulitple teckpacks:
This feature is available for techpacks that have versions. Click on this article to learn how to create a version.
Step a: You can only share multiple techpacks that are part of the same folder.
Select the techpacks that you wish to share, click on overflow Options
Or when in Stage view.
Step b: From the list select this option Send to Manufacturers.
Step c: You will see a pop-up window appear.
The Selected Techpacks will be listed on the left panel. Click on individual techpack and
Select a Version that you wish to share from the right panel.
Click on the Next button on the right bottom corner.
Step d: Review selected techpacks and their selected version and click on the Confirm button on the right bottom corner.
Step e: A window will pop up with
Type email Id directly in the text box (max 5 email ids can be entered).
OR, select an email group of a manufacturer you've added via My manufactures page.
Click on send button and you have successfully shared multiple techpacks in one go.
