How to share a Tech pack with Manufacturers

Step 1: Create a tech pack version 

To create a new version of your tech pack, follow these steps:

Step a: Click on the  TECH PACK on your product workspace.

Step b: To create a new version of your tech pack, click on Save Version to lock the changes as a version.

It's a good practice to save a version whenever you change a stage OR when sending updates to your manufacturer. This way you and your manufacturer can capture and see the differences between the versions.

Your latest tech pack version can be accessed from the Versions dropdown.

Your latest tech pack version will be listed in order from top to bottom with the date & time it was generated.  

These versions can be shared with your manufacturers anytime you want directly from PLMBR. 

Step 2: How to share single or multiple tech packs

There are three ways to share a read-only version of your tech packs with the manufacturer:

• Share a single tech pack via e-mail
• Share a single tech pack by enabling the public URL link
• Share multiple tech packs

2a. Share a single tech pack via e-mail:

Step a: Select and preview the tech pack version you want to share.

Step b: Click on the Send Version icon on the top right corner.

Step c: A window pops-up with a public link. 

• A window pops-up with a public link. 
• Enter your manufacturer's email ID. (50 email addresses at a time are accepted)
• Edit the subject and the message, or keep it as the default
• Attach a PDF copy with this email (for manufacturers in China). It is advisable to always click the attached PDF checkbox on the left bottom corner; by doing this a PDF copy of the selected tech packs will be attached with the e-mail.
• Click on Send. 

You can share tech packs with up to 50 manufacturer emails at a time.

2b. Share a single tech pack by enabling the public URL link:

Step a: Select and preview the tech pack version you want to share.

Step b: Click Options next to the version on the left.

And select Public access from the dropdown.

Step c: Click on Copy link to copy the public link of your tech pack to share it directly with your manufacturer and you’ll be redirected to a new window tab with the PDF version of your techpack.

Simply copy and share your browser's URL link with your manufacturers that will let them view, print and save the tech pack PDF.  

2c. Share mulitple teckpacks:

This feature is available for tech packs that have versions. Click on this article to learn how to create a version.

Step a: You can only share multiple tech packs that are part of the same folder.

Select the tech packs that you wish to share, click on overflow Options  

Or when in Stage view. 

Step b: From the list select this option Send to Manufacturers.

Step c:  You will see a pop-up window appear.

The Selected Tech packs will be listed on the left panel. Click on individual tech pack and

Select a Version that you wish to share from the right panel.

Click on the Next button on the right bottom corner.

Step d: Review selected tech packs and their selected version and click on the Confirm button on the right bottom corner.

Step e: A window pops-up with a public link.
