How to use Techpacker plugin for Adobe Illustrator

With our Techpacker plugin, additional features are brought to your existing installed Illustrator. With just one click, artwork can be easily uploaded or updated from Illustrator to your Techpacker account, serving as Techpack cover images, cards, and libraries. The manual exporting of artwork between platforms is eliminated, saving you valuable time. Your work is made easier and faster with the help of our plugin.

1. How to upload your artwork as techpack cover image 

 

Before adding .ai files to Techpacker, ensure they are saved locally on your computer and the filename does not contain 'untitled'.

 

Step 1: Open the Ai file that you wish to upload as techpack cover image. Now, once you log in to Techpacker on Ilustrator through the plugin; click and select mceclip0.png the folder from the dropdown list where you wish to add a new techpack or mceclip1.png click on this mceclip0.png icon to add a new folder.

 

 

Step 2: Click on this icon mceclip1.pngto add a techpack inside the selected folder.

 

 

Step 3:  The newly added techpack will be listed in the dropdown. Hover your mouse on the techpack

you will see this  mceclip2.pngicon. Click on the icon to add a name to the techpack.

 

Click on this mceclip0.png icon to confirm the name.

 

 

Step 4:  Click on this mceclip1.png icon to upload or replace techpack cover image. A pop window will appear with listed artboards.

 

Step 5: Click and select the artboard to upload. 

 

You can see your techpack cover image is uploaded!

 

 

 


 

2. How to upload your artwork as a card cover image 

 

Before adding .ai files to Techpacker, ensure they are saved locally on your computer and the filename does not contain 'untitled'.

 

Step 1: Open the Ai file that you wish to upload as a card cover image. Now once you log in to Techpacker on Ilustrator through the plugin; click on the techpack inside the selected folder.

Step 2: This will take you to a list of types of cards namely Sketches, Materials, and Measurements.

 

Click on mceclip0.png this mceclip2.pngicon and add a card to the required card section.         

 Click on mceclip1.png this mceclip4.png icon to open the card section; you will see the newly added card in the list.

Step 3: Hover the mouse on the newly added card. Click on this icon mceclip2.pngto add a name to the card.

Step 4:  mceclip0.png click on this mceclip0.png icon to confirm the name. Click on mceclip1.pngthis mceclip1.pngicon to upload or replace the card cover image.

Step 5: A pop window will appear with listed artboards. Click and select the artboard to upload.

Step 6: You will see the mceclip0.png card cover image is uploaded!

Hover the mouse on the newly added card. You will see mceclip1.png this browser-icon.png icon. Click on the icon; it will navigate you to the Techpacker web browser.

Step 7: Log in to your account using your Techpacker login credentials.

Click on the techpack> it will take you to the cards section> click on this settings.jpg icon for the listed cards> go to files and comments on the top panel.

You will see the actual illustrator file is also uploaded on Techapcker for the users to download as shown in the GIF below. 16aa.gif

3. How to upload your artwork as a library card.

 

Before adding .ai files to Techpacker, ensure they are saved locally on your computer and the filename does not contain 'untitled'.

 

Step 1: Open the Ai files that you wish to upload as library card images. Once you log in to Techpacker on Ilustrator through the plugin; click on the libraries icon at the bottom panel.

Step 2: Click to select mceclip0.pngthe existing library from the dropdown list where you would wish to add an image or mceclip1.pngadd a new library by clicking on this mceclip0.png icon.

If you add a new library, a pop-up window will appear. Choose library type from the list to create one.

Step 3: Click on this sketches.pngicon on the right side of the newly added library type.

Step 4: Add a name to the newly created library. Click on this mceclip0.png icon to confirm the name.

Step 5: Click on the newly added library. It will take you to the library card list.

Step 6: Click on this mceclip0.png icon to add a card to the library.

Step 7: Hover the mouse on the newly added library card. Click on this icon mceclip2.pngto add a name to the card.

Step 8:  mceclip0.png click on this mceclip0.png icon to confirm the name. Click on mceclip1.pngthis mceclip1.pngicon to upload or replace the library card cover image.

Step 9: A pop window will appear with listed artboards. Click and select the artboard to upload. 11.jpg

 

Step 10:   you will see the mceclip0.png library card cover image is uploaded!

Hover the mouse on the newly added card. You will see mceclip1.png this browser-icon.png icon. Click on the icon; it will navigate you to the Techpacker web browser.

Step 11: Log in to your account using your Techpacker login credentials. You will see the actual illustrator file is also uploaded on Techapcker for the users to download as shown below.

4. Additional settings

Our plugin for Adobe Illustrator enhances your workflow by introducing features designed to save time and simplify your tasks. Below are some additional settings available under the Options tab settings.jpg icon:

 

 

2a. Switch organization:

If you have accounts linked to multiple organizations, this feature allows you to switch between them seamlessly. No need to log in and out repeatedly — just toggle effortlessly between accounts using Switch Organization option and then select an organization from the options that follows.

 

 

 

2b. Add file as attachment:

This feature allows you to directly upload files as attachments in either .ai or .pdf format to your cards, giving you greater flexibility and control over the files associated with each card.

Step 1: Click on the Options tab settings.jpg icon on the top right to open the additional settings window.

Step 2: Activate the File as attachment toggle switch.

Step 3: Select Format for uploading your files as attachments to your cards: either .ai or .pdf.

 

Step 4: Click on FOLDER icon on the bottom panel to open your folder directory.

Step 5: From the list of folders that appear, select the one where you want to upload your Illustrator file.

Step 6: From the list of tech packs/products that appear, select the one where you want to upload your Illustrator file.

Step 7: Click on the section you want to upload your illustrator file to, for example - Sketches.

Step 8: Click on this mceclip0.png icon to add a card to the selected section.

Step 10: A pop window will appear with listed artboards. Click and select the artboard to upload.

Step 11: Click on browser-icon.png icon. It will navigate you to the PLMBR web browser. You will see the actual illustrator file is uploaded under FILES & COMMENTS section for the users to download as shown below.

2c. Select artboard name as card name:

Use the names of your Illustrator file’s artboards as card names during uploads, making organization easier and saving you time. Each artboard name will correspond directly to a card name, helping you keep track of your designs effortlessly.

 

Step 1: Click on the Options tab settings.jpg icon on the top right to open the additional settings window.

Step 2: Activate the Artboard as card name toggle switch.

Step 4: From the list of folders that appear, select the one where you want to upload your Illustrator file.

Step 6: Click on the section you want to upload your illustrator file to, for example - Sketches.

Step 7: Click on this mceclip0.png icon to add a card to the selected section.

Step 9: A pop window will appear with listed artboards. Click and select the artboard to upload. You will notice that the file name automatically updates as the artboard name.

Step 10: Click on browser-icon.png icon. It will navigate you to the PLMBR web browser. You will see the illustrator file is uploaded and the file name automatically updates as the artboard name as shown below.

2d. Logout: 

Easily log out of your account with a single click. This ensures secure access and allows you to switch users when needed.
